Liability Waiver and Acknowledgment of Risk
Participation in The Interco(a)stal Walk involves walking approximately three miles through Bath, Maine, and participating in outdoor activities at multiple locations. While reasonable measures will be taken to support participant safety, participation involves inherent risks that may include:
- Walking conditions: The route may include sidewalks, streets and street crossings, grassy or unpaved areas, stairs or inclines, and uneven or slippery surfaces. Participants should wear appropriate footwear and exercise care throughout the route.
- Weather: The event will take place outdoors in October, and weather conditions may change. Participants should come prepared for rain, wind, cold, heat, or other conditions.
- Physical activity: The event involves approximately three miles of walking as well as periods of standing. Transportation and other accommodations will be available for participants who are unable to walk the full route or have other mobility needs.
- Outdoor environments: Participants may encounter insects, plants, wildlife, and other conditions associated with outdoor public spaces.
By participating in The Interco(a)stal Walk (the “Event”), I acknowledge that I understand and voluntarily accept the risks associated with participation. I understand that it is my responsibility to consider my own ability to participate safely, follow instructions provided by Event organizers, and notify organizers of any accommodations I may need.
I understand that the organizers will take reasonable measures to support a safe and accessible experience but cannot eliminate all risks associated with participation.
By registering for and participating in the Event, I voluntarily assume the risks associated with my participation and release and hold harmless Atlantic Black Box, its partner organizations, Event organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and their respective officers, employees, and agents from claims arising from injury, property damage, or other loss resulting from my participation in the Event, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
